7NEWS.com.au is looking for a casual Saturday Editor to prepare, edit and curate content. This is the perfect role for an experienced digital editor with a passion for breaking news and features who is eager to work on a casual basis at a senior level.

Based in Martin Place, and reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, you will:

• Lead the on-duty 7NEWS.com.au weekend team each Saturday, as well as preparing content each Friday (two total shifts a week)
• Assign breaking news stories to digital reporters
• Handle rolling coverage for major news events
• Edit copy for maximum audience impact
• Curate content on homepages
• Post to social media
• Track real-time audience statistics to identify content opportunities
• Liaise and collaborate with Seven’s broadcast news team

We are looking for someone who has:

• Proven digital experience working independently and setting editorial priorities
• A solid understanding of media law and ethics
• An ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment without compromising on quality or accuracy
• Motivation to find interesting angles and create high-quality content that engages readers on digital platforms
