About the Branch
Join a Federal Government Agency in a Helpdesk Support Officer labour hire role until June 2023, with a possible extension until the end of the year. If you are looking to get into the Australian Public Service, this is the perfect opportunity, as there is no requirement for prior APS experience or Security Clearance. This Temporary Workforce Support team would form part of more than 100,000 Australians contributing to an important piece of work. The team supports employees nationally in the employment, training, and payment of this particular workforce.
Purpose of the role
The Helpdesk Support Officer supports the managing of queries and delivery of advice to other divisions, managing the IT systems, and implementing policies and procedures developed by National Office.
Responsibilities include
- First point of call from staff in relation to employment, training and payments (ETP).
- Make and communicate decisions within defined boundaries relating to the area of responsibility using training, templates and standard operating procedures provided to you.
- Cultivate and maintain stakeholder relationships, including assisting in the resolution of stakeholder problems.
- Make decisions and resolve issues with some guidance from more senior staff.
- Escalate complex issues as required.
- Undertake quality assurance activities to maintain the integrity, availability and capability of the systems including data input.
Additional responsibilities during Peak Periods
- Rostered hours. Work on weekends may be required.
- Increased volume of work to be expected.
- Given the nature of work, you will be based in the office.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Tech savvy, as this role works across several different systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Excellent communication skills and phone manner.
- Able to work at a fast pace.
- Professional demeanour with a high level of integrity.
