About the role
This position is responsible for providing high-level administrative support in a professional and timely manner to support the achievement of the Community, Culture & Leisure Division’s objectives. On a daily basis you will, but not limited to:
- Provide high-level administrative services, exercising discretion, initiative and confidentiality to support the Director and the Division
- Coordinate the Director's schedule, arrangements for meetings and appointments, including preparation of agendas, minutes and follow up correspondence.
- Ensure that all customer requests, tasks and correspondence assigned to the Director, Community, Culture & Leisure are resolved and actioned in a timely manner.
- Draft correspondence/business files/presentations/statistics/reports through the effective use of electronic based software applications and office equipment.
- Ensure all relevant business data/information is recorded, maintained and safely stored in order to contribute to timely responses to urgent requests for information, briefings or advice.
About the person
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant qualifications in Business Administration and/or experience in a similar role
- Highly developed computer skills, preferably in MS Office
- Highly developed analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- An ability to work independently, a sound understanding of the business of local government and demonstrated ability to work within a political environment are also highly regarded.
